# About Softball Chronicles

## Who publishes it

Softball Chronicles is published by RegisterPlay. RegisterPlay is the registration and scheduling platform that softball associations and tournament directors use to run their events.

## How stories are written

Softball Chronicles is published by RegisterPlay. Stories are written from Register Play data feed.

A story starts from the official scores a tournament director enters on RegisterPlay: the teams, the scores and the times of each game. The story is written from those facts only. Before a story is published, a check compares every number and every team name in the text with the scores. A story that does not match is not published.

Each story carries the name of the desk that wrote it. The desks are not people: each one is a fixed way of writing a kind of story, such as a recap of a final or a preview of an event.

Stories never describe things the scores do not show, such as the weather, single plays or quotes. Stories from The Front Office are news from RegisterPlay itself and are labelled "From RegisterPlay".

## Corrections

If a story has a mistake, use "Report a mistake" on the story, or email hello@softballchronicles.com with the story's address and what is wrong. A story that is wrong is taken down, and its address then says that it was taken down.

## Photos

The paper uses team logos only. It never uses photos of players.

## Contact

Email hello@softballchronicles.com. Questions about one tournament (dates, fees, divisions) go to its director: each story links to the event's own site.
